Cognitive Behavioral Therapy
I am a Cognitive Behavioral Therapist (CBT). I use Exposure and Response Prevention to treat OCD and I use Cognitive Processing Therapy to treat PTSD. Both of these therapies are types of CBT. I also use CBT to treat anxiety disorders, anger management, and depression. When I treat ADHD I primarily use behavioral interventions and teach skills to improve executive functioning, frustration tolerance, and emotional regulation.
These interventions are highly effective and I tailor them to meet the specific needs of my clients. Targeted therapy can be completed in 12-24 sessions, though I will treat you as long as you need.
CBT is extremely flexible and collaborative, and can be adapted to meet the needs of any client. I have a very person-centered approach and I like to use creativity and humor to help my clients learn new ways of thinking and responding to triggers, as well as new coping skills.
